About Lock & Dam #11™ whole bean

This ground coffee blend is roasted to a delicate light to medium (city roast) level to exhibit a warm and smooth body with a crisp roast character and a creamy complexity. We combine beans from several Central American and South American coffee growing regions to craft a one-of-a-kind flavor and aromatics that cannot be duplicated in any one single coffee bean origin. This blend has a bold flavor while keeping more of the natural coffee characteristics intact. If you like a strong coffee flavor without any bitterness or lingering aftertaste, then this is the coffee you have been searching for!

Lock & Dam #11™: Born in Dubuque, Iowa

Located on the Mississippi River in Dubuque, Lock & Dam 11 was constructed between 1934 and 1937, and is located at River Mile 583.0 on the Upper Mississippi River between Dubuque, Iowa and rural Grant County, Wisconsin. Originally planned to be located above Specht's Ferry, Iowa, in 1933 the project was moved to Dubuque due to the high unemployment at the time. Employing as many as 901 people at one time, the lock and dam were constructed at a cost of $7,430,000, a sizeable sum for the 1930s.
