Our 100% Sumatra single-origin is one of our darkest roasts. We meticulously roast this one as dark as possible while avoiding any burnt or overbearing smoky flavors which can overpower the flavor of the coffee itself. This scrupulously dark roast level allows our Sumatra to exude a heavy body, bold tones and earthy aromas that will have you coming back for more.
What does Sumatra coffee taste like?
Sumatra coffee is special due to its distinct flavor profile, which is full-bodied, earthy, and low in acidity. This unique taste is attributed to the region's nutrient-rich volcanic soil, high-altitude cultivation, and the traditional wet-hulling processing method. These factors, combined with Sumatra's ideal tropical climate, result in coffee beans that are complex and robust, making Sumatran coffee highly prized by coffee enthusiasts around the world.

A tribute to nostalgia and good times past
Verena Street® Story
Verena Street® Coffee is named after the neighborhood where we grew up in the Mississippi River valleys of Dubuque, Iowa. The original Verena Street was removed years ago for highway expansion but now lives on as the namesake of our craft roasted coffee. Although we can no longer walk down Verena Street, it is a place we can once again call home.
