Our signature blend and one of our best sellers, this medium roast coffee bean has a smooth body with a rich and bold but approachable roast flavor. This blend combines several bean origins from Central America and Indonesia to create a flavor that cannot be duplicated in any single origin coffee bean. The profile is full-bodied with a balanced richness to give you a satisfying coffee taste without an overbearing aftertaste or bitterness. We roast it to a medium level, or a full city roast.

Julien's Breakfast Blend®
Born in Dubuque, Iowa
Dubuque is the first European settlement in Iowa, and is named after Julien Dubuque, a French Canadian. Julien Dubuque secured rights from the Mesquakie Indians in 1788 to mine their land for lead, and in 1796 petitioned the Spanish governor for permanent possession of this land. Legend has it Dubuque married Potosa, the daughter of Peosta, Chief of the Mesquakie Indians. When Dubuque died in 1810, the Mesquakie buried him beneath a log mausoleum overlooking what is now Dubuque, Iowa and the Mississippi River. In 1897, the Julien Dubuque Monument was constructed in remembrance of the city's founder.

Verena Street® Story
Verena Street® Coffee is named after the neighborhood where we grew up in the Mississippi River valleys of Dubuque, Iowa. The original Verena Street was removed years ago for highway expansion but now lives on as the namesake of our craft roasted coffee. Although we can no longer walk down Verena Street, it is a place we can once again call home.
